Graston Technique

What is Graston Technique? The Graston Technique is a form of manual therapy that uses stainless steel tools to perform muscle mobilizations. With the use of special designed tools and and certified training the Graston Technique begins by locating muscle knots and scar tissue which often are the main contributing factor to pain and discomfort which may lead you to seek relief. With the application of the specialized on these areas trained chiropractors such Dr. Jake Yang can break down those knots and scar tissue and help you regain motion and alleviate your pain issue.

Targeted Massage

Targeted Massage and traditional massage sound very similar but are two very different forms of care. Traditional massage is typically for people who have some pain but it has not reached a level which can alter a person’s life, it can bring temporary relief and is also usually done for relaxation and comfort. Targeted Massage was developed for people who have chronic or debilitating pain and has a heavy focus in the repair and reorganization of injured muscles which aids in alleviating muscle spasms and reducing tightness.

Spinal Decompression (Cox Flexion-Distraction Technique)

Disc Decompression uses negative pressure to gently stretch the spine which can change the force and position of the spine and take pressure off the spinal discs. At AJ Chiropractic we use Cox 7 Disc Decompression Table to achieve flexion-distraction, which is practiced by 60% of chiropractic physicians and has evolved as a well-respected, well-researched, successful, gentle, and safe chiropractic technique for spine pain conditions.

Active Release Technique

Active release technique aids in the recovery your body’s soft tissue by combining manipulation and movement. Active Release Technique works by breaking up adhesions, which are dense collections of scar tissue that form when muscles and connective tissues are injured. By identifying, isolating, and targeting scar tissue the Active Release Technique can promote blood flow and faster healing of injuries of muscles, ligaments, tendons, and nerves.

Kinesio Taping

Kinesio taping is the process of applying tape directly to the skin in order to maintain a stable position of bones and muscles during athletic activity. It is a procedure that uses tape, attached to the skin, to physically keep in place muscles or bones at a certain position. This reduces pain and aids recovery. Taping is usually used to help recover from overuse and other injuries.

The general goals of  kinesio taping are to restrict the motion of an injured joint, compress soft tissues to reduce swelling, support anatomical structures involved in the injury, serve as a splint or secure a splint, secure dressing or bandages, protect the injured joint from re-injury, and protect the injured part while the injured part is in the healing process.

Chiropractic Manipulation

A chiropractic adjustment, also known as chiropractic manipulation, manual manipulation, or spinal manipulation, is a common therapeutic treatment for lower back pain. A chiropractic adjustment refers to a chiropractor applying manipulation to the vertebrae that have abnormal movement patterns or fail to function normally. The objective of this chiropractic treatment is to reduce the subluxation, with the goals of increasing range of motion, reducing nerve irritability and improving function.
